Free Emergency Callout
Same-day assessment. No obligation, no surprise fees.
A tree emergency is no time for the cheap guy.
A fallen or hanging tree is dangerous, unpredictable, and often tangled with power lines. The wrong move — or the wrong crew — can turn a property-damage problem into an injury.
We answer the phone 24/7, talk you through making the area safe, and get an insured, equipped crew to you fast. We stabilise the hazard, remove what’s threatening your home, and document everything for your insurance.
Calm, fast, and fully covered — exactly what you want when a tree comes down.

Emergency Service: The Details Homeowners Ask For
Straight answers on timing, permits, access, and what it costs you.
- Line answered
- 24 hours a day, including weekends and holidays, by a person rather than a machine.
- On site
- Same day for a genuine hazard, usually within hours. A city-wide windstorm stretches that, and we triage by risk to people first.
- If a power line is involved
- Stay at least 10 m back, about the length of a school bus, and treat the line as live. Call 911 first and Toronto Hydro second. We do not cut a conductor and neither should you.
- Toronto permit
- An imminently hazardous tree still needs the City’s sign-off, but through the exception route rather than a standard application. A tree that is 100% dead needs no permit at all.
- What it costs
- Night, weekend and storm call-outs price higher than the same work booked in advance, because of crew hours and the risk of working a damaged tree.
- For your insurer
- Dated photos before we touch anything, plus a written description of the failure and the work done.
What to do in the twenty minutes before we arrive
Get everyone out of the rooms under the tree, including the floor above. A limb resting on a roof is holding tension it can release without warning, and the ceiling below is the first thing to go.
Assume every wire in the mess is live, including the ones lying in water or draped over a fence. A downed conductor can energise the ground around it. Stay 10 m clear, keep pets in, call 911, then Toronto Hydro. The line from the pole to your house is the utility’s to make safe, not ours and not yours.
Photograph the damage from a safe distance before anything moves. Insurers pay on evidence, and the scene changes the moment a crew starts cutting. We add our own set plus a written report to whatever you have taken.
Do not pull on a hanging limb, and do not run a chainsaw over a storm-damaged tree. Wood under bending load stores energy the way a drawn bow does. That is the mechanism behind most homeowner chainsaw injuries after a storm, and it is why a partly fallen tree gets rigged and released in a planned order rather than cut where it looks convenient.

Questions Homeowners Ask Us
Are you really available 24/7?
Yes. A fallen or hazardous tree can’t wait for business hours. Our emergency line is answered around the clock and we dispatch same-day.
What should I do while I wait for you?
Keep everyone well clear of the tree and any power lines, don’t touch downed lines, and if it’s safe, move vehicles away. We’ll guide you on the phone.
Will my insurance cover emergency tree removal?
Often, yes — especially when a tree hits a structure. We provide photos and a written report to support your claim.
Do you work around power lines?
We’re trained to work safely near utility lines and will coordinate with the hydro provider when a line is involved.
How fast can you get here?
For true emergencies we mobilise the same day, typically within hours depending on conditions and how many calls are active during a storm.
A tree fell on my neighbour’s fence. Who pays?
Where a healthy tree comes down in a storm, insurers generally treat it as an act of nature and each owner claims on their own policy. It changes if the tree was already dead or you had been told it was hazardous and left it, which is why a written arborist assessment on a suspect tree is worth having before a storm rather than after.
Is emergency tree removal covered by home insurance?
Usually when the tree has hit a structure such as the house, garage, fence or a vehicle. A tree that falls in open yard and damages nothing is often the owner’s cost. Policies differ, so we document the failure and the work in writing for your adjuster either way.
Can you take a tree off the power line into my house?
No one but the utility touches that line. We call Toronto Hydro to disconnect or make it safe, then clear the tree once the conductor is dead. Anyone who offers to cut around a live service line is telling you what their safety standards are.
